‘Echo VR’ Unleashes a Lethal Dose of Holiday Cheer in ‘Winter Village’ Event

Ready to get in the holiday spirit? Echo Games just pushed an update to Rift exclusive Echo VR that has transformed the lobby into a ‘Winter Village’, including a few holiday-themed avatar customizations and plenty of Christmas cheer for all.

In-keeping with the shitty-Christmas-sweater fad, Echo VR also now has new avatars replete with knit patterns, a gingerbread man emote, and reindeer decal—all of it unlockable by competing in either one match of Echo Arena or Echo Combat during the Winter Village Event.

Both the free team sport game Echo Arena and the paid team shooter Echo Combat are housed within Echo VRthe latter of which costs $10 to unlock. And even though Echo VR is supremely comfortable thanks to its unique ‘grab the world’ locomotion system, you might still want to take it easy on the eggnog—after all, it’s not a sports drink.

The event will be taking place from now until January 3rd, 2019 at 10:30 AM PST (local time here).
