The critically-acclaimed game Slime Rancher (2017), a PC and console title that lets you run your own ranch filled with plucky slime buddies, is getting a VR version this fall that will allow you to vac, feed, and play with slimes.
Developed by Monomi Park and VR studio 3lb Games, Slime Rancher: VR Playground is said to include unique VR playgrounds based off of popular locations in the ‘Far, Far Range’, letting you meet a number of slimes such as pink, tabby, and phosphor.
The studios say however the upcoming DLC “does not include the full expanses of the Far, Far Range.” VR-accessible playgrounds available in the DLC will include the Dry Reef, Moss Blanket, and Ancient Ruins.
There’s still no word on exactly which headsets the DLC will be targeting, although we expect to see support the standard SteamVR-compatible headsets including HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and possibly Windows VR headsets. The base game also supports PS4, although it’s uncertain at this point if PSVR owners will see the free DLC as well.
You can keep an eye on Slime Rancher: VR Playgrounds by adding it to your Steam wishlist here.
