‘Beat Saber’ Studio Shows How to Get the Highest Score in New Video

Beat Games (ex-Hyperbolic Magnetism) has now revealed exactly how to get the highest score in their block-slicing VR rhythm game Beat Saber (2018) in a new video.

Beat Saber requires good timing so you can slice the directional blocks on the beat. But if you’re still wondering just how to get the full amount of points, Beat Studio has come to your aid.

Here’s the text version if you’re not able to watch:

The swing angle before the cut should be at least 90 degrees for 70 points max. Don’t worry about cutting in a straight line. [The] Algorithm is pretty tolerant. You should continue moving and make at least a 60 degree angle after the cut. This will give you an additional 30 points. You can get 10 more points based on how close to the center of the cube you cut. [The] more similar these parts are, [the] more points you get.

Now just do that for every block, and you should hypothetically have the max points for every level—which is of course easier said than done, but don’t say we didn’t tell you so.

Released in May for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows VR, Beat Saber has already become one of the highest selling VR games on Steam in 2018 (so far), garnering over $2 million in revenue generated in its first month.

The studio is currently planning on bringing multiplayer, custom avatars, and custom sabers to the game, which would certainly add the already massively fun game a new dimension on top of their soon-to-come custom level maker.
