Back in 2016, Magic Leap released a video clip of a breaching augmented reality whale as a backdrop to their freshly redesigned website, something meant to grab the attention of prospective investors, developers, and consumers alike. Now, through Magic Leap’s Helio browser, we can finally see what an augmented reality whale actually looks like running on Magic Leap One.
Here’s a quick refresher in case you don’t remember (Woooah!).
Magic Leap’s Helio browser essentially allows users to pull 3D objects from the web and view them in AR, similar to how WebXR based browsers like Mozilla let you quickly pop into a VR headset and experience lightweight virtual experiences and games without downloading a dedicated executable. There are only a few experiences listed in the ‘Helio Experiments’ section right now: the ‘Majestic Mammal’ whale, a demo called ‘Artistic Escape, and an ‘E-Retailing’ demo.
The video below was recorded thanks to ML1’s ability to capture footage through the perspective of the user. To company’s ultimate credit, seeing a giant whale—albeit a lower resolution one that’s not nearly as lifelike as the whale seen back in 2016—is still probably pretty impressive in vivo. That said, the direct comparison of concept to reality should definitely set some expectations of what the hardware is capable of.
The Helio-based experience also adds a few more things that may engage kids more than a quick breach of a gymnasium floor. Included in the demo, which was captured by Anima Games, is a host of whale facts.

Oculus and developer Sanzaru Games further promise that they are “working on additional content that we can’t announce at this time. It is on a longer-term schedule than Patch 2.”
Original Article (August 8th, 2018):Marvel Powers United VR is one of Oculus’ biggest content bets yet, and the company has vowed to support for the game post-launch. The game launched to mixed reviews (ours is here) less than two weeks ago. And while the game’s first patch, due out in a few weeks, isn’t likely to make any drastic changes, the studio is promising that “bigger improvements” are forthcoming.
In the meantime, the first patch will bring some balance tweaks and a slew of bug fixes; Sanzaru revealed the details on their newly christened Discord server where they encourage the game’s community to gather:
Marvel Powers United VR Patch 1 Release Notes:
Fix proper ramping of difficulty (X relays lost = game over).
Shield Generator health tuning for challenge.
Re-balance health and damage on heroes for challenge.
Fix map select visual pop.
Improve messaging for entering single player.
Improve messaging for muting players.
Improve messaging for inviting friends.
Improve messaging for minority auto ready. Add timer.
Support for private matches.
Cut map roulette selection duration in half.
Remove map select timer for single player.
Let players move from the start of match. No more standing stuck in place waiting for Scientist Supreme to talk.
Rocket soldiers should respond immediately & shoot. No more clumsy searching.
Remove all chatter & other unnecessary soldier anims. They should always be moving to position or shooting.
Remove all hero grenade timeouts.
Lineup ultimate decal messaging to fit hazard volume exactly. There’s a small gap.
Improve rocket soldier object vision/awareness. Many instances shooting objects in pathway of target (Asgard columns & Dark Dimension rock columns).
Thor & Doctor Strange capes on occasion still obscure player vision.
Fix Wolverine leap effects staying persistent in Alpha Flight Station from 3P.
Make charging Captain America’s shield consistent. It’s always broken for first throw.
Squeezing trigger on Captain America’s returning charged shield offsets the charge effect.
Rockets impacting targets from a distance don’t explode & hover in place. Quickly enter a relay area from a distance. Observe floating rockets around the relay.
Fix bug at the beginning of Prologue with Captain America’s shield hovering behind the player. Just suspended there in the air. Grabbing the shield removes the issue.
Fix bug with grabbing two throwables in Alpha Flight Station & colliding them together, momentarily suspending them.
Fix bug with the underside of Venom effects on catwalks & bridges. You can see his body pop in. Should behave like the Thanos hand effects.
Fix bug with the crate button callout. Doesn’t display correctly when feeding Lockjaw.
Fix bug with the end of match white results screen.
Fix bug between gameplay & results where there will often be a momentary flash w/ a black cube.
Fix bug upon returning to Alpha Flight Station as a team. Sometimes portraits won’t display on the team status UI.
The first three changes listed in the release notes address one of the key critiques of the game (a lack of challenge), but it’s going to take more significant changes for the game to address redundancy and immersion issues.
For Sanzaru’s part, the studio says, “We continue to work on bigger improvements to the game [beyond this initial patch] and will share details on those as soon as we are able to. We’re reading all of the feedback even if we’re unable to reply to every individual post. Thank you for your ongoing support!”

'Marvel Powers United' is One of Oculus Studios' Biggest Content Investments Yet
Oculus Studios, the publisher of Marvel Powers United VR, told us around the time of the game’s launch that they are committed to post-launch content, and suggested that player feedback would drive the roadmap.
“I think what we want to do [with DLC] is get the game out there, get it in the hands of the fans, and let them tell us what they want more of. Obviously we could come up with no shortage of cool scenarios that we could script and put people in, or stories that we would want to retell, but you have to fit it in a structure—you only have so much resources and time and ability to get stuff done,” the game’s Executive Producer, Mike Doran said. “This was the choice we made, we wanted to lean heavily into the multiplayer and the co-op social aspects; we’re going to see how the fans react and what they want more of.”
Hubs in ongoing development, and Mozilla’s Mixed Reality team last week took the veil off the latest set of features which allows easy importing of media and 3D models to be shared among users in any room. Just like popular chat apps which embed pasted media directly into a conversation, sharing photos and videos is as easy as pasting a link into Hubs. When you do, the file (a photo, for instance) will pop into the shared room as an interactive object which can be moved about and seen by anyone in the room.
Mozilla says that Hubs now supports importing of photos, GIFs PDFs, YouTube videos, and 3D models in GLTF format from sites like Sketchfab or Poly.
It’s also now easier to join Hubs rooms from standalone VR headsets like Oculus Go and Lenovo Mirage Solo, thanks to a pin system which allows you to access rooms with a four digit code entered into at the url hubs.link.
If you’ve got the latest version of Firefox, you can join Hubs rooms from PC VR headsets like the Rift and Vive, while other browsers can join in desktop mode on both PC and smartphones.

Imogen Heap, the Grammy-award winning musician, is following in the footsteps of TOKiMONSTA, Ash Koosha, and The Glitch Mob with a social VR concert experience, hosted on TheWaveVR platform soon.
Starting tomorrow, August 31st, the Imogen Heap experience will kick off with an 11:00 AM PT showing (local time here). A second show will take place at 7:00 PM PT (local time here), which ought to fit nicely into viewing schedules for users in North and South America.
Users with an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive will be able to join in. Check out TheWaveVR on Steam (Vive, Rift, Windows VR) and the Oculus Store (Rift).
In a recent blogpost, Oculus calls the upcoming Imogen Heap concert “a spellbinding trip of sight and sound—not unlike some of Heap’s past work—but this specific debut promises an altogether fresh experience.”
The concert, like many others, will include a live VR audience with what the company calls “a more intimate affair,” which will take place inside Heap’s childhood home. A volumetrically captured version of the Imogen Heap will also be on display in TheWaveVR, which was created with Depthkit.
The show will feature multiple songs, including a previously unreleased Frou Frou track and an entirely new mix of ‘Hide and Seek’ from the album Speak for Yourself.
“From my first talks with TheWaveVR, which as it happened were in VR, I knew I wanted to get involved in this project,” says artist Imogen Heap. “With my three-year-old daughter’s future in mind, it excites me how, through virtual reality, we are already able to connect in a more human way, even when time and place would have it otherwise. Having my fans experience a musical performance from within the welcoming walls of my family home brings a whole new dimension to connecting and communicating for me.”
It’s uncertain if users will be able to check out the show after the two showings, so make sure to have TheWaveVR downloaded and ready.

Oculus recently announced the’ll be expanding their educational pilot program by donating Oculus Rift and Oculus Go headsets to a number of educational institutions across Taiwan, Japan, and Seattle.
Dubbed Oculus Education, the new phase of the program is intended to bring VR headsets into schools, libraries, and museums, with what the company says is an overall goal of better understanding how teachers, students, and various institutions can use VR for learning and collaboration.
“Currently, these pilot programs will focus on training teachers and other instructors, as learning the particulars of any technology is a critical step in creating—and scaling—a program of lasting impact and value,” the company says in a blogpost. “The programs will also gather valuable feedback and lessons learned, specifically around the unique needs of individual institutions, that we can share with our product teams to inform our future discussions and plans.”
Nearby the company’s upcoming Seattle-based Oculus hub, Seattle Public Schools will see a special VR creation course and learning program, which is said to feature student and teacher collaboration across Seattle’s Ballard High School and Franklin High School. The course will allow students from both schools to cooperatively create educational VR content for eventual use in the classroom. Oculus is also partnering with Technology Access Foundation (TAF) in Seattle to better understand how to train educators to use VR, “and explore additional applications of VR in the classroom.”
In HTC’s backyard, Oculus is working with the Taiwan Internet and E-Commerce Association (TiEA) to distribute Rift and Go headsets to a number of Taiwan locations including: American Innovation Center, Kaohsiung Main Public Library Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei, National Central Library, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Natural Science, National Taiwan Museum, New Taipei City Library (Main Library), Social Innovation Lab, Taipei Public Library (Main Library), and Taroko National Park Headquarters.
As for Japan, VR headsets will earmarked for a distance learning program and educational apps for high school students, which the company says will help connect students in remote parts of the country to teachers through VR.
Oculus competitor HTC is also engaging the education sector by donation 100 Vives to libraries across California and Nevada, and creating a number of China-based, multidisciplinary VR educational programs via their startup VIVEDU, which has brought HTC VR products to Chinese classrooms spanning the gamut of K-12, vocational schools and university-level classes.
Google is also supporting VR/AR education with its Expedition Pioneer Program, which is bringing based on Google Cardboard and the company’s smartphone-based AR platform ARKit.
It’s amazing that one day kids will look back fondly on their first VR experience in the same way many remember the school’s computer lab, which was usually first stocked with a fleet of the ’80s era all-in-one Macintosh. While it’s still early days for educational VR apps, and educators simply can’t fill a room with VR headsets and hope for the best, it’s clear we’re in the beginning stages, which is a promising thought for future generations.
“JOIN THE GREATEST MINDS IN SPATIAL COMPUTING FOR OUR FIRST EVER L.E.A.P. CONFERENCE AND DISCOVER HOW TO WIELD THE OTHERWORLDLY POWERS OF MAGIC LEAP ONE.”
Magic Leap’s L.E.A.P. Conference is by invitation only due to limited space. Applications to register will be open until October 3rd, 2018, although the company says that interested “developers, creators, pioneers and visionaries” should apply as soon as possible.
In classic Magic Leap style, things are still tightly under wraps. There’s no schedule or specific location available to the public yet, although CEO Rony Abovitz hinted at reveals coming regarding volumetric cinematography. Abovitz also says there will also be “a bunch of partner ML1 apps and experiences that will be showcased.”
As a new dev kit, the company needs to court app developers to properly fill up their library of games and experiences. With a limited number of attendees, the company will no doubt be hand-picking devs based on the likelihood that they not only have the interest, but also the means to produce an app for the headset.
Priced at a premium $2300, and lacking the grassroots support that a more affordable headset might garner, it appears Magic Leap One clearly isn’t following the same starting trajectory of the virtual reality industry. Hopefully the conference will give us greater insight into where the industry is going in the near future.
Apple has acquired Akonia Holographics, a startup focused on holographic display and storage technology. The move is the latest development in a years-long string of acquisitions, patents, and hirings by the company focused on augmented and virtual reality technology
The acquisition of Akonia Holographics was confirmed to Reuters by Apple, though the tight-lipped company had nothing to share regarding the purpose of the acquisition.
Founded in 2012, Colorado-based Akonia Holographics claims to have 200 patents focused on holography, specifically pertaining to storage and optics. The company says their ‘HoloMirror’ technology “[uses] a fundamentally different approach than thin holography or surface relief gratings, [allowing for] for dramatically higher performance than any holographic element in the past.” VentureBeat reported back in 2016 that the company was at the time targeting a 60 degree field of view for its AR optics, which is claims are the “thinnest full-color head worn display optic possible today.”
The company previously raised $11.6 million in venture capital back in 2012, according to Crunchbase. According to the company’s website, they were “actively seeking funding for a Series A investment” prior to the acquisition news.

Feel Three, a 3DOF motion simulator for VR, went live on Kickstarter yesterday. And owing to its vision in providing a relatively cost-effective solution among a sea of expensive motion platforms, the company blasted past their £50,000 funding goal within only a day’s time.
The simulator is built on a half-sphere base, which sits atop a number of motors and special omnidirectional wheels, called ‘omni wheels’, that give the user three degrees of freedom: pitch, roll and yaw. Because of its relatively inexpensive design—it doesn’t include costly linear actuators, which can set you back around £1,000 to £2,000 each—the Feel Three is touted as an affordable solution, starting at £2,000 (~$2,570) for Super Early Birds.
“You’re lifting the user up and down [with linear actuators], which is really expensive mechanically—it takes a lot of power. So by using just omni wheels and DC motors, we can move the user quite quickly. They sit at the center of gravity, they’re balanced. It’s just a simpler solution,” says project founder Mark Towner.
The platform also includes tactile transducers, which add vibration from the game in several places, giving you an extra hit of immersion by letting you feel engine revs, gunfire and other impacts. The system’s tactile transducers are placed by your feet, hands and back.
Because it’s a device intended for VR users, tracking is also an important aspect. According to the Kickstarter page, a tracker near the player’s head “constantly updates the orientation of the sphere and cancels the movement of the simulator from the players view.” This is where a pain point arrises however:
“We need to track the platform and uses these readings to cancel the movement in your headset. Many motion simulators have a small range of pitch and roll so the user can simply keep looking forward despite the movement and chance of discomfort. This then means their view will float around in the car as they drive, which is fine for some people, not ok for others.”
Since the platform’s range of movement is so dramatic, motion cancellation will have to be figured out before it’s a perfect fit. Some of the ways the company suggest conquering this challenge include: individual game support, native engine support through Unreal or Unity, an API wrapper (which could break after headset software updates), native support through OpenXR, or native support from headset manufacturers. The company is currently boasting over 100 compatible games, some of which are non-VR games that can be played via a virtual screen while in-headset.
Still, it’s clear this sort of motion platform will appeal to VR simulator enthusiasts looking to fly in Elite Dangerous (2014) or drive in Project Cars 2 (2017), so Feel Three also includes a removable armrest plate so you can swap out and safely bolt down controllers. The final package is said to include armrest plates with pre-drilled holes for “the most popular controllers,” although the company will also provide a chart for other controllers so you can DIY your own setup.
As for steering wheels and center-mounted flight yokes, those can can be attached to what the creators call “a lightweight optional shelf which is attached to both armrests and can be rotated forward to let the user enter the cockpit.”
The company is providing their own software suite to control Feel Three, allowing users to adjust the speed and intensity of each game, as well as set limits on their physical rotation.
As a lower-tier item for £400 (~$515), backers can also choose the simulator’s static cockpit piece, which includes a chair mount, armrests, pedal shelf, and four 60W tactile transducers.

Oculus had announced almost a year ago now that they planned to take their Oculus Avatars system cross-platform. Now, with last week’s release of Oculus Avatar SDK 1.28, the package is finally ready to be deployed cross-platform, meaning that Oculus games also offered on other platforms can use a unified avatar system.
Oculus invested in building a platform-level avatar system to allow users to create a consistent representation of themselves that could be used across various games in the Oculus ecosystem while saving developers from needing to build their own avatar system for each game.
Unfortunately, while they are arguably some of the best looking avatars out there, Oculus Avatars has seen minimal adoption, due in part to the fact that it has been restricted to titles on the Oculus platform. Since cross-platform distribution is critical for developers at this stage in the VR market, implementing Oculus Avatars into apps which would ultimately be distributed on other platforms like SteamVR would mean extra work, as the developer would need to implement Oculus Avatars for the Oculus version of the app, and a separate avatar system for the non-Oculus version of the app.

With the release of the Oculus Avatar SDK 1.28, developers can finally build Oculus Avatars into their apps for cross-platform use, meaning apps can rely on a unified avatar system whether they’re distributed through the Oculus Store, SteamVR, or elsewhere. This also makes things potentially easier for apps which have cross-play (multiplayer between platforms). Oculus says cross-platform support for their Avatars system has been “one of [developers’] biggest requests.”
Even with the move to cross-platform support, Oculus Avatars themselves are configured at the platform level and tied to an Oculus user account; players do their avatar customizations in Oculus Home rather than inside individual apps. That means that non-Oculus users can’t make their own custom avatars, and will instead be stuck choosing from pre-configured avatars offered through each app.
Oculus says they’re “in the early stages of building out richer avatar support for non-Oculus users,” so perhaps in the future they will also make avatar customization cross-platform (let’s just hope it doesn’t take another year). The company also says they’re continuing to invest in the Oculus Avatars system, including working toward “developer-created avatar content” for game-specific avatar customization.
Stormland, the upcoming open-world VR title from Insomniac Games and Oculus, will be playable at PAX West this week to the general public, and not just badge-holders.
The Oculus Stormland pop-up will be available for one day only on August 31st in Seattle, WA.
Oculus says in a blogpost that PAX-goers and the general public alike will get a chance to “[b]ound up cliffs, glide across chasms, and fly through the slipstream with velocity. Detonate explosives, harness electricity, and wield makeshift weapons to overcome titanium sentries and monolithic guardians.”
In Stormland, you play as a peaceful robotic gardener until a mysterious storm called ‘The Tempest’ shatters your android body. After lying dormant for centuries, you must journey through an ever-changing cloudscape, augmenting yourself to become a heroic fighter, save your friends, and reclaim your world.
You have the ability to fly just above the cloud-like ‘slipstream’ using your hands, and shoot a laser in the cloud’s surface to create a sort of ramp to glide off of. You can also physically climb up a cliff side and glide back down. ‘The Tempest’ is said to rearrange everything each week, presenting the player with new playgrounds of movement, combat, and scavenging.

Not seen something reviewed here, maybe you have your answer. == Special Thanks == UKRifter Logo by Jo Baker Freelance Design - http://jobaker.co.uk/ == Techno Babble for the Geeks == HMD: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift DK1 / DK2 / CV1 CPU: i7 4790K GPU: Nvidia EVGA 1080 SC edition RAM: 16GB Storage: SSD / Hybid SSD Screen recorder: OBS Wheel: Logitech G27 Joystick: Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X Mouse: RAT 7 == Legal == The thoughts and opinions expressed by UKRifter and other contributors are those of the individual contributors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of their employers, sponsors, family members, pets or voices in their heads. == Audio Credits == UKRifter Jingle by Christopher Gray Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Multistreaming with https://restream.io/

Ubiquity6, the AR startup that came out of stealth earlier this year, announced the successful completion of a $27 million Series B finance round. The latest round was co-led by Benchmark and Index Ventures, with Benchmark taking a seat on the company’s board.
With its Series B, the company’s total funding comes to $37.5 million, $10.5 million of which was obtained in the company’s Series A back in March.
The video below demonstrates that a large number of users are interacting at the same time however, something both ARKit (Android) and ARCore (iOS) can’t accomplish natively.
“Augmented reality could be one of the greatest inventions of our time, but there is no clear path to mass adoption. We believe that leveraging the millions of smartphones already in consumers’ hands to create a meaningful shared experience is how we will unlock AR’s full potential,” said Anjney Midha, CEO and co-founder of Ubiquity6. “We previewed this technology by bringing over a hundred people together to play test the experience at the SFMOMA; eventually we will open up our tools for anyone to easily create and experience AR with those around them – from their two closest friends to hundreds of people.”
Benchmark General Partner Mitch Lasky will be taking a seat on the Ubiquity6 board. Lasky has previously served as an executive at Disney, Activision, and Electronic Arts.
Ubiquity6 will be hosting a public beta soon, so interested parties can sign up here.
Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming expo, is only a few hours away from opening their doors to the masses. To kick things off, NVIDIA is hosting a special GeForce gaming event today in Cologne, Germany that most everyone suspects will feature the launch of the company’s latest flagship GPUs, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti.
If you’re in Cologne, you can actually get into the event, which Nvidia says via a blogpost will be “loaded with exclusive, hands-on demos running on the hottest upcoming games, presentations from some of the world’s biggest game developers and some spectacular surprises.”
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang will be delivering a keynote at the event.
The event begins at 6:00 PM CET (local time here), and if you’re not going to be able to make it, you’ll be able to check out the livestream here.
We have feet on the ground at Gamescom 2018, so check back for all of the VR/AR news and hands-on articles of this year’s up and coming games.
Back a Oculus Connect last year, the company teased an upcoming Oculus exclusive game developed Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall and Titanfall 2, which has since been acquired by EA. The title, which has yet to see a formal announcement, appears to be poised for FPS action when it launches in 2019.
While VR is certainly suited to doing more than just shooters, it seems that Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming VR game is going to stay true to the studio’s speciality, and aim for an FPS combat experience.
Job listings for Respawn Entertainment refer to the title only as “Unannounced VR game,” and characterize it a “AAA VR shooter game” and a “combat VR game.” Several of the listings seek candidates whose “prior experience on an FPS title is ideal,” with one listing looking for someone “experience[d] with first person weapons and full body animations.”
Listings for the title span Art, Game Design, Software Development, and Quality Verification; 14% of Respawn’s 35 current job listings are for the studio’s Unannounced VR game. All positions are for the studio’s LA location.
Little is known about the game to date, though we hope to get some details at Oculus Connect 2018 coming up in late September. Back during the initial tease from Oculus Connect 2017, Respawn Game Director Peter Hirschmann confirmed that the title is not related to Titanfall or Star Wars (both of which the studio is working on for separate projects).
Respawn Entertainment was acquired last year by EA, just a month after Oculus announced that it planned to publish an Oculus exclusive made by the studio, however both Respawn and Oculus have said that the acquisition won’t have any impact on the project coming to fruition.

'Marvel Powers United' is One of Oculus Studios' Biggest Content Investments Yet
Depending upon the success of Respawn’s VR project, the acquisition could potentially act as a trojan horse for getting EA more involved with VR. The massive publisher hasn’t delved deeply into the young tech—there’s not VR game to date that’s reeled in enough revenue to be more than a drop in the bucket for EA’s bottom line—but they aren’t ignoring it entirely.
EA’s Star Wars Battlefront (2015) launched with a special VR mission exclusively for PlayStation VR. Though it was a single level, it was well received and, tellingly, built on the company’s own Frostbite engine—meaning the publisher has invested time into adapting their core engine for VR rendering. Unfortunately Battlefront II (2017) didn’t end up launching with any VR content of its own.
EA will likely have a major say in what the studio does next, but with the Rift-exclusive VR project already signed between Oculus and Respawn, the outcome could be a major factor in whether the publisher decides to take on more VR projects or scrap such initiatives until VR has further matured.
Virtual Virtual Reality, a VR gem which first launched on Daydream in 2017 and later on Oculus Go and Rift earlier this year, appears to be on its way to the HTC Vive via Steam.
Though there doesn’t appear to have been an official announcement yet from developer Tender Claws, a Virtual Virtual Reality page on Steam has been spotted sporting HTC Vive support and a release date of September 2018.
Virtual Virtual Reality began its life as a Daydream exclusive in 2017 and was launched on Oculus Go earlier this year; it’s a unique narrative adventure and easily one of the most immersive games available on mobile VR headsets. The game eventually found its way to the PC VR space when it launched for the Oculus Rift in June, where it’s enjoyed strong reviews from users.
The trailer page offers a hint of what you can expect from Virtual Virtual Reality, but it’s really something that you’ll need to explore on your own:
If you’ve only played Beat Saber’s default levels, you’re missing out! A community of enthusiasts have created lots of unofficial levels which are easy to install, many featuring recognizable tunes that make the game even more fun. We’ve got a list of 11 great community-made custom songs for Beat Saber that are definitely worth a try.
First thing’s first: if you haven’t installed any custom songs for Beat Saber yet, click over to this simple guide to install the mods you need to download and play custom songs.
Second: this list is focused on Expert-level play; if you’re still playing Beat Saber at Hard or lower difficulty, consider continuing to practice with the default levels, as custom songs skew toward even higher difficulty, and not all custom songs include difficulties easier than Expert and Hard (some have Expert+!).

So, once you’ve got the mods installed, you’ll find a ‘Beatsaver’ button insider of Beat Saber on the main menu. Clicking on it will show you all of the custom songs available for download. There’s many to choose from, but the quality of each beat map can be hit or miss. So here’s some fun and challenging songs to get started (don’t miss the ‘Search’ button at the top of the list inside the game to find these easily):
Believer – Imagine Dragons (Beat map by Rustic)
Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars (Beat map by BennyDaBeast)
Hyper Drive – Jaroslav Beck, Generdyn (Beat map author unknown)
New Dawn – PrototypeRaptor (Beat map by Rustic)

Burn – Ellie Goulding (Beat map by BennyDaBeast)
X Gon’ Give It To Ya – DMX (Beat map by attackpanda11)
Harder Better Faster Stronger – Daft Punk (Beat map by RunRockGame)
It seems that the best Beat Saber levels find a way to make your movements reflect the feeling of each song, and that’s certainly exhibited in many of the above. Thanks to all the community members who have put these quality beat maps together for the rest of us.

Just over two weeks ago Oculus debuted its first Rift retail bundle, which includes the recently released Marvel Powers United VR alongside a handful of other free titles. Now the bundle is on sale for $350 at Best Buy in the US, a $50 discount over the usual price.
The Oculus Rift Marvel Powers United VR bundle launched on July 31st, priced at the usual $400, but with a copy of the game included for free. Oculus says that aside from the sleeve, everything inside the box is effectively identical to the Rift + Touch retail package, save for the game code—though it certainly would have been cool to see a special edition headset themed after various heroes. As before, the retail package also includes Lucky’s Tale, Medium, Quill, Dead and Buried, and Robo Recall for free.
The ‘while supplies last’ bundle has popped up on sale at Best Buy US for $350. It isn’t clear how long the deal will last, but is still in stock at the time of writing.

League of Legends - the game filled with terminologies, right from smurfing and ganking bot; it sometimes is hard to understand what these phrases mean. Suppose you are playing a game of Legends for a long time then you must be aware of the term "elo boosting". But, what's elo boosting or why is everybody talking about this?

Steam is chocked full of free games that support HTC Vive, but it may be difficult with all that choice to know exactly which games to start out with, especially if that shiny new HTC Vive or HTC Vive Pro blew out your remaining games budget.

5 – Accounting
Synopsis: You don’t really play Accounting so much as Accounting plays you. Created by Justin Roiland (of Rick and Morty) and Crows Crows Crows, Accounting is a fever dream of comedy, imagination, and a healthy dose of WTF.
Studio description: The modern field of Accountancy is a serious and honorable profession. Many human beings have spent their lives toiling over the hard science of numbers. Thousands have died so that we may get to the level of understanding that we have today. Thousands have died.
Synopsis: What’s Waltz of the Wizard doing on the list if it’s not a game? Well, it is and it isn’t. Not only an awesome showcase for VR object interaction, Waltz of the Wizard also has its own story to tell, albeit a short and sweet one. You mix potions, levitate objects and discover a world that is just begging for a full game. It’s certainly worth a look, as the level of polish is pretty much through the roof.
Studio description: Waltz of the Wizard is a virtual reality experience that lets you feel what it’s like to have magical powers. Combine arcane ingredients into a boiling cauldron with the help of an ancient spirit trapped in a human skull. Unleash creative or destructive wizardry upon a fully interactive virtual world.
Synopsis: The game, which recently took on the new moniker Archangel Hellfire, used to be a single player-only, on-rails mech shooter when it launched last year. Recently though, Skydance Interactive released an off-rails multiplayer expansion which pits you in a team deathmatch, and offering some of the fun mech fans originally expected from the single player game, but never got. Fortunately the studio also released a free version that offers team multiplayer for exactly zero dollars.
Studio description: Archangel Hellfire is the unholy union of godlike mech weaponry and infernal team deathmatch gameplay. An intense, free-roaming shooter where you pilot massive weapons of death, armed to the teeth, fighting over an apocalyptic landscape. Traumatized by the mayhem of PVP? Jump into the award winning single player campaign and live the story that lead to the current mech war between HUMNX and the USFF. Battle Training is live, jump in.
Synopsis: Rec Room isn’t really a bespoke game, but rather a social VR app that contains a number of engaging and fun games within it. You’ll get swept up in the multiplayer adventures, casual sports, and the newest addition Rec Royale, a battle royale-style shooter.
Studio description: Rec Room is the best place to hang out with friends from all around the world! Play intense multiplayer games like Paintball, Laser Tag, Quest, and Rec Royale, or just chill with friends in the park. There are thousands of player-created game and event rooms for you to discover, with new ones added daily. You can even build your own rooms with your friends. Rec Room is cross platform and free, so come and join the fun!
Synopsis: When Valve published The Lab on Steam back in 2016, it was basically the highest quality VR game/experience there was by default. Now two years running, it still holds up as a shinning achievement of what Valve is capable of when they release a game. Yes, we’re still waiting on their promised ‘three full VR games‘, but until then, we’ll just play Longbow until then.
Studio description: Welcome to The Lab, a compilation of Valve’s room-scale VR experiments set in a pocket universe within Aperture Science. Fix a robot, defend a castle, adopt a mechanical dog, and more. Still not sold? It’s free!
If you’re looking for a portal to more free, awesome quality games, look no further than Revive, the tool that lets you play Oculus Store exclusives. Check out our top games to play with Revive below:
Echo VR
Synopsis: In Echo Combat (still unreleased), you will play as a futuristic battle-ready robot armed with an array of weapons and abilities as your team of three competes against the opposition in high-speed objective-based zero-gravity mayhem!
Echo Arena now supports parties of 15 players and 5v5 private matches, with 5 more slots available for spectators! In the Arena, your team will face off against the competition in a zero-gravity clash of robotic glory as you glide, boost, and punch your way to scoring goals in a breathtaking virtual arena.
Synopsis: You used to push lead with a pencil, but now you’re pushing it with a gun. A recent barrage of defective, homicidal robots has created openings in RoboReady’s perpetually underfunded and suddenly swamped Recall Department. Thrown into the fray as a Recaller, you must rely on your wits, reflexes and a vast arsenal of weaponry to eliminate the robot uprising.
Synopsis: Play head-to-head online or in Conquest story mode from your Oculus Rift, Gear VR, or Facebook Gameroom account on desktop.
